I’m Javier

I owe my first contact with music to my teenage sister who spent hours on end playing Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Cream …when I was about 6 years old.

I got my first guitar at 16 years old and the first electric one at 18. A little later on I joined a pop – rock group, “Naif”, as lead guitarist and song writer, playing in bars and faculty parties. During the 80’s in a Seville University School of Architecture festival, I coincided with Los Secretos on stage and met Enrique Urquijo.

In 2017 my children gave me an acoustic guitar.

From then on, I started writing songs again. I then decided to set up an acoustic duo, inviting Oana to join me and thus, Sweet Days was born.

I have been influenced by folk, the blues, country and of course pop music. Billy Joel, Eric Clapton and James Taylor have all had an impact on my music for their sheer mastery and elegant songwriting.

Along with my passion for my profession, architecture, my children, music and the sea are my stalwarts. My favourite sport is surfing and my hobby 20th century art history. I value respect between people, towards animals and of course, our planet. However, I hate any need to seek power.  Extremes are not my thing.
